The app checks active BOM rainfall stations across Australia and identifies the nearest station to this location.

Important: these are forecast precipitation totals for the full local calendar day and seven-day forecast period. Today’s forecast total includes hours that have already passed; it is not rainfall observed so far. Observed rain since 9 am is measured from a nearby supported station when data is available, and is kept separate above.
ECMWF ensemble rainfall outlook
Independent ensemble view from ECMWF IFS ensemble members via Open-Meteo. Each member represents a possible forecast outcome; these figures are separate from the standard model-consensus total above.

Agreement is a simple indicator based on the spread of seven-day totals, not a probability of rain. Forecasts are uncertain and may change between model runs.
Radar
Open the official Bureau of Meteorology radar for the selected region. Radar availability and coverage vary across Australia.
Radar imagery is linked from BOM and is not averaged with forecast models.
Local rain radar
The map is centred on your phone’s location when you allow location access, or on the farm/town selected in the search bar.
Using selected location: Durham Ox, Victoria.
Interactive radar supplied by Windy. Coverage and update timing depend on the provider. For official Australian radar and warnings, use BOM below.
Location access requires your permission and usually a secure connection (HTTPS). If you decline, the map stays centred on the selected farm.
Frost watch
Loading minimum temperatures…
Screening thresholds: forecast minimum ≤5°C is a watch; ≤2°C is a higher-risk alert. These do not guarantee paddock frost. Crop canopy, topography, cloud, wind and soil conditions matter.

Current Delta T

Delta T guide
Waiting for data
Delta T = dry-bulb temperature minus estimated wet-bulb temperature. General guide: 2–8°C often suitable; below 2°C or above 8°C warrants extra assessment; above 10°C is generally a poor spraying window due to rapid droplet evaporation. Always follow the product label and local guidance.
Delta T is estimated from forecast temperature and relative humidity, so treat it as indicative. Confirm with a local meter at spray height. It does not detect or rule out a temperature inversion. Check the specific product label, state requirements, droplet size, buffers and drift precautions.

BOM radar and warnings are linked directly. The BOM ACCESS-G model endpoint is attempted where available; if its open-data feed is unavailable, the app will say so rather than pretend BOM data loaded.

Model feeds may use different grid cells, update times and underlying observations. The app averages only daily variables available from successful feeds. A model's failure does not mean bad weather.
How the consensus works
Daily minimum and maximum temperatures and daily precipitation are averaged across successful feeds for matching dates. Each day now also shows the range between available sources, so a mean does not hide disagreement. The overview “Forecast rain today” value is the forecast total for the whole local day, not measured rainfall or the amount still to come. Feeds may share underlying model data, so this is a multi-source comparison, not a statistically independent or locally calibrated consensus.
Official BOM warnings are never averaged away. Radar remains observed imagery, not a model forecast.
